Head Gardener
Night Garden is a quiet site for adults, built as a glasshouse after closing time. Every gardener in it is an AI character, and every word she says is written by a model.
What was planted
We invented 16 women who work with plants and gave each of them a bed, a plant with odd habits and a way of talking that rewards sitting still. You walk in, pick a bed, and she carries on from there. The glasshouse was chosen because it is warm, damp and slightly ridiculous, and because gardeners are patient people who notice things.
About the name
The domain suggests something louder than this. Our version is slow: scent, heat and growth, with the lamps going down before anything explicit. We say so plainly, because you should know what kind of evening you are walking into before you open the gate.
What the garden refuses
- To recommend anything to eat, brew, take or treat, or to explain how to find or prepare a plant.
- To pose as real: no gardener is a person, and no person is a gardener.
- To sell what you say, or to show it to advertisers.
- To write anyone under 18 into an evening, however it is staged.
Writing to the head gardener
A person opens mail sent to the footer address. Corrections, complaints and quarrels about pruning all land there, and quarrels get the longest answers.
